Why choose the Round LED Recessed Spotlight 12W

At €5.45 per fitting, this downlight offers a straightforward path to replacing ageing halogen GU10s or older recessed units without rewiring or ceiling alterations. The aluminium body dissipates heat efficiently, protecting the light source over its 30,000-hour lifespan, while the 200–240V AC input and standard on/off driver mean it works directly on any European mains circuit with no additional components required.

• Running cost: At 12W replacing a 50W halogen, energy consumption drops by 76%, cutting electricity costs significantly across multi-fitting installations.
• Flexible installation: The adjustable cut-out range of Ø94–104 mm accommodates most existing ceiling holes, avoiding costly patching or replastering work.
• Build quality: The aluminium housing conducts heat away from the driver and LEDs, supporting the full 30,000-hour rated lifespan without premature lumen depreciation.
• Warranty: A 3-year warranty is included as standard, giving installers and end clients reliable cover on residential and light commercial projects.

Where to use it

This 12W downlight is well suited to living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, kitchens, and retail changing rooms where warm, comfortable light is preferred. At typical ceiling heights of 2.4–3.0 metres, a spacing of roughly 1.2–1.5 metres between fittings achieves adequate general illumination. The IP41 rating covers standard indoor environments but excludes wet rooms or areas with direct water exposure.

What the specifications mean in practice

• 3000K: Warm white light that creates a relaxed, residential atmosphere — the same tone as traditional halogen, making it a direct like-for-like replacement in living spaces.
• 80 lm/W: Each watt of electricity produces 80 lumens of useful light, delivering meaningful energy savings compared to the 20 lm/W typical of the halogen it replaces.
• IP41: Protected against solid objects larger than 1 mm and dripping water falling vertically — suitable for standard dry indoor ceilings, but not bathrooms or outdoor soffits.
• Ra>80: Colours of furnishings, skin tones, and surfaces are rendered accurately enough for living areas and retail display, with no noticeable colour distortion.
• 30,000 hours: At eight hours of use per day, this fitting runs for approximately ten years before reaching its rated end-of-life, minimising replacement and maintenance costs.

Installation and compatibility

The fitting recesses into ceilings with a cut-out between Ø94 and Ø104 mm and requires a minimum ceiling void depth of 26.5 mm. It connects directly to a 200–240V AC mains supply with no external driver needed. The on/off driver does not support dimming.
