ATEX LED Light 200W 6000K – Explosion Proof Lighting for Zone 1, 2, 21 & 22

In hazardous areas where flammable gases, vapours or combustible dust are present, ordinary lighting fixtures are dangerous. A single spark from a failed component can ignite an explosive atmosphere. That is why the European ATEX directive (2014/34/EU) requires certified explosion proof luminaires in classified zones. This 200W ATEX LED fixture is fully certified for use in Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21 and Zone 22, covering both gas and dust atmospheres.

Certified for All Four ATEX Zones

This fixture carries dual certification covering all four classified zones:

• Zone 1 (gas): areas where explosive gas atmospheres are likely to occur during normal operation – e.g. petrol station refuelling areas, paint spray booths, solvent storage rooms
• Zone 2 (gas): areas where explosive gas atmospheres are not likely to occur in normal operation but may occur briefly – e.g. ventilated chemical storage, perimeter zones around Zone 1
• Zone 21 (dust): areas where explosive dust clouds are likely to occur in normal operation – e.g. inside grain silos, flour mills, pharmaceutical mixing rooms
• Zone 22 (dust): areas where explosive dust clouds are not likely in normal operation but may occur briefly – e.g. around sanding stations, sugar handling, woodworking shops

Because this fixture is certified for the most demanding zones (1 and 21), it can also be used in the lower-risk zones (2 and 22) without any restrictions. One product, all hazardous areas covered.

Built to the Highest Standards

The housing is constructed from corrosion-resistant aluminium with a double-sealed enclosure design. Every cable entry is fitted with an ATEX-certified cable gland. The internal components meet the “ex e” (increased safety) and “ex tb” (dust ignition protection) requirements. IP66 rating ensures protection against dust and powerful water jets, important in chemical and food processing environments where regular washdowns are required. With 120 lm/W efficiency and a 50,000+ hour lifespan, this fixture delivers professional grade performance even in the most demanding conditions.

Compliance and Installation

ATEX fixtures must be installed by a qualified electrician trained in hazardous area installations. Installation, periodic inspection and record-keeping are all required under the ATEX Workplace Directive (1999/92/EC). We supply the luminaire complete with full certification documentation including the EU type examination certificate and declaration of conformity.
