Round LED Surface Spotlight 12W 6000K Daylight White – Ø170mm – 960 lm – For Hallway & Living Areas – 3-Year Warranty

Why choose the Round LED Surface Spotlight 12W

Where recessed installation is not possible — whether due to a concrete ceiling, insulation constraints or a listed building — this surface spotlight offers a clean, modern alternative. The Ø170mm disc sits nearly flush against the ceiling at only 19mm deep, making it visually unobtrusive while providing genuine task-level illumination. CE and RoHS certification confirm it meets EU safety and environmental standards.

• Efficiency: At 80 lm/W, this 12W fitting produces the same usable light as a 50W incandescent bulb, cutting energy consumption by 76%.
• Light quality: A CRI of Ra>80 ensures colours read accurately under the 6000K daylight output, keeping spaces looking clean and well-lit.
• Build: The aluminium housing dissipates heat effectively, supporting the 30,000-hour rated lifespan without the yellowing common in plastic alternatives.
• Simplicity: On/off operation with a power factor above 0.95 means no flicker, no compatibility issues with standard switches, and no additional driver to source.

Where to use it

This spotlight is well suited to hallways, stairwells, bathrooms (subject to zone placement given IP41), utility rooms, storage areas and residential living spaces with solid ceilings. At a typical mounting height of 2.4–3 metres, a single fitting covers a small room or corridor section; two or three units spaced evenly handle a standard open-plan hallway or kitchen utility zone comfortably.

What the specifications mean in practice

• 6000K: Daylight white colour temperature produces a bright, neutral-to-cool light that improves visibility in task areas and keeps hallways feeling open rather than dim.
• 60° beam angle: A relatively focused beam concentrates light downward, reducing spill onto walls and making it effective at mounting heights up to around 3 metres.
• IP41: Protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and dripping water falling vertically — suitable for indoor use including bathrooms outside splash zones.
• 30,000 hours: Running the fitting 8 hours a day, you can expect roughly 10 years before replacement, significantly reducing maintenance calls in rental or commercial properties.
• UGR<22: Glare is controlled to a level acceptable for general circulation and living areas, though spaces requiring intensive screen work would benefit from a UGR<19 fitting.

Installation and compatibility

The fitting mounts directly to any flat ceiling surface using the integrated back plate — no recessed cutout required. It connects to a standard 200–240V AC supply and operates on a conventional on/off switch. No separate driver is needed. Clightstore can provide a free DIALux light study to confirm spacing and lux levels before you order.
