Description
Why choose the LED UFO High Bay 240/200/150W
This fitting combines a field-selectable wattage with DALI dimming and a proven Moso driver, giving installers and facility managers precise control over both light output and energy consumption from day one. The 90° beam angle concentrates light efficiently onto the working plane, reducing spill and maximising useful lumens at mounting heights between 6 and 12 metres.
- Efficiency: At 150 lm/W, this high bay produces the same light as a 400W metal halide fitting while drawing a maximum of 240W, cutting energy consumption by up to 60%.
- Power adjustment: Switching between 240W, 200W and 150W on-site means one SKU covers multiple zones without ordering separate fittings.
- Control: Native DALI compatibility integrates directly with building management systems, enabling daylight harvesting, occupancy-linked dimming and scene control.
- Driver and warranty: The Moso driver is rated for industrial duty cycles and is backed by Clightstore's 5-year warranty, covering both driver and housing.
Where to use it
This UFO high bay is well suited to warehouses, logistics centres and production halls with clear heights of 6–12 metres, where a 90° beam delivers focused illumination on racking aisles and work surfaces. It also performs reliably in sports halls, large retail stockrooms, car workshops and food-processing facilities that require consistent, high-output daylight-tone lighting across wide floor areas.
What the specifications mean in practice
- 150 lm/W: Every watt drawn produces 150 lumens of usable light, significantly reducing your electricity bill compared with older HID or lower-efficacy LED alternatives.
- 36,000 lm: At 240W, this output is sufficient to illuminate a 10×10 metre bay to 300–500 lux at a 6–8 metre mounting height, depending on reflectance.
- 5000K: A cool daylight tone that enhances contrast and alertness, ideal for picking operations, quality inspection lines and sports activities where visual acuity is important.
- 90° beam angle: Concentrates light directly below the fitting, minimising wasted lumens on walls and ceilings and reducing the number of fittings needed per bay.
- DALI dimming: Allows stepless 0–100% dimming via any DALI-compatible controller, enabling automated scenes, emergency-level presets and integration with occupancy sensors.
Installation and compatibility
The fitting ships with a 0.3 m cable and a standard hook mount suitable for suspension from steel beams or cable-drop systems. Power selection is made at the driver before installation. DALI wiring requires a two-wire bus connection to your DALI controller. Clightstore provides a free DIALux light study to confirm mounting height, spacing and lux levels for your specific layout.
Frequently asked questions
How do I select the wattage — 240W, 200W or 150W?
The power level is set via a selector on the Moso driver before the fitting is energised. No additional components are required. Once set, the output remains fixed unless manually adjusted during a maintenance visit.
What DALI controller or system do I need?
Any standard DALI-2 or legacy DALI controller will work. The fitting connects via a two-wire DALI bus alongside your other DALI devices. Clightstore can advise on compatible controllers if needed.
Is this high bay suitable for mounting heights above 10 metres?
The 90° beam angle is optimised for 6–12 metre heights. Above 12 metres, a narrower beam angle is generally more effective. Contact Clightstore for a free DIALux study to confirm suitability for your specific ceiling height.
Which wattage for which ceiling height?
Guide values for a 90° beam angle, measured from the floor to the bottom of the light.
| Mounting height | Wattage | Area per light at 300 lux (storage) | Area per light at 500 lux (production) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3–4 m | 30–60W | ≈ 20 m² | ≈ 10 m² |
| 4–6 m | 70–100W | ≈ 30 m² | ≈ 20 m² |
| 6–8 m | 120–150W This light | ≈ 45 m² | ≈ 25 m² |
| 8–10 m | 160–200W | ≈ 60 m² | ≈ 35 m² |
| 10–12 m | 200–240W | ≈ 70 m² | ≈ 45 m² |
| 12–15 m | 250–300W | ≈ 90 m² | ≈ 55 m² |
Calculated with this light’s efficacy of 150 lm/W in a hall with light-coloured walls. Above 12 m a 60° beam gives better results.
